At Bavs, reducing waste isn’t just about the items on our shelves — it’s a commitment that runs through everything we do. And that includes making sure scrap metal doesn’t end up in landfill when it can be recycled and put back to good use.
Another load of scrap metal has been collected and is heading for recycling — keeping valuable materials in use and out of the ground.
Recycling metal means fewer raw materials need to be extracted from the earth, and significantly less energy and resource is needed compared to producing new metal from scratch. It’s one of the most effective forms of recycling there is — and every load makes a difference.
A huge thank you to our brilliant volunteer Theo for helping us get it all sorted and ready to go. Volunteers like Theo are at the heart of everything Bavs does across Berwickshire, and we’re incredibly grateful for their time and effort.
Less waste. More recycling. A greener Berwickshire. 💚
