Behind every charity shop, every community project, and every item saved from landfill, there are people who give their time freely — and at Bavs, our volunteers are absolutely everything.
Whether you’re retired and looking for something meaningful to do with your week, a student wanting to build experience, or simply someone who wants to give something back to their community — there’s a place for you at Bavs.
What do our volunteers do?
Our volunteers get involved in all sorts of ways:
- Sorting and pricing donations in our charity shops
- Serving customers and keeping the shop floor looking great
- Helping at the Reuse Hub in Chirnside
- Supporting community events and workshops
- Helping with admin and behind-the-scenes tasks
No two days are the same — and no experience is necessary. We’ll give you all the training and support you need.
Current vacancies
As well as volunteering opportunities, we also have paid positions available from time to time. If you’re interested in working for a charity that’s genuinely making a difference in Berwickshire, keep an eye on our Jobs & Vacancies page for the latest openings.
Why volunteer with Bavs?
Our volunteers tell us they love the social side just as much as the sense of purpose. It’s a chance to meet new people, learn new skills, and be part of something that really matters in your local community.
“It’s the best part of my week” — that’s something we hear a lot. And we’d love for you to feel the same way.
